Joey Ramone is the focus of a new children’s book.

Joey’s been gone almost 25 years but his memory lives on in so many ways. He’s now that focus of a new children’s book called Gabba Gabba We Accept You. And a warning to MAGA types: It’s very work.

The full title of the book is Gabba Gabba We Accept You: The Wondrous Tale of Joey Ramone. It “the story of a misfit kid who grew up to be a punk rock hero. The challenging times that Jeffrey Ross Hyman endured before becoming Joey Ramone speak to young folks navigating the complexities of growing up, via teachable punk stuff: being your own person with your own compass and embracing uniqueness.”

The goal? To provide solace and inspiration for “all the kids who feel a little different.”

The book, written by Jay Ruttenberg and illustrated by Lucina Schriber, will be published in June by Drag City.
