Johnny Marr and the Stones’ Ron Wood Perform “How Soon Is Now”

This happened the other night at the NME Awards.  It’s momentous because (a) it’s freakin’ Johnny Marr and Ronnie Wood playing together; and (b) I’m not sure the Smiths ever played “How Soon Is Now” in public more than once or twice.  Back then, it was just too difficult to replicate that fantastic wobbly guitar effect.

  • That. Was. Awesome. Johnny's vocals are a little flatter than the Mozzer (no instant autotune? 😉 ) but it works. It works!

  • Here's one of the times it was performed live. This was supposed to be included on their live album "Rank" but for some reason it wasn't. Got to love Morrissey's moves.
