Just announced: Live Nation’s annual $30 concert ticket sale

Live Nation is the world’s biggest concert promoter. The company also owns a number of amphitheatres. The company’s job is to fill as many of those seats with bums as they possibly can. And after extrapolating the numbers for the 2026 summer concert season, they’ve once again identified seats that need to be filled.

The result is the annual $30 concert ticket sale, or what they call “The Summer of Live.”

More than 4,000 shows have such tickets available including Guns N’ Roses, The Black Crowes, Jimmy Eat World, Sam Roberts Band, Blue Rodeo, BABYMETAL, Evanescence, Goose, The Guess Who, Iron Maiden, Rob Zombie & Marilyn Manson, Sarah McLachlan, Triumph, and a ton of others.

To see if there’s a show in your market that’s on sale, go here. The sale is on until May 5.

Before you ask, here’s how this works with the acts. Live Nation books an act with a guarantee. That means no matter how many people are in the building, the act gets X dollars. It’s up to Ticketmaster to make that guarantee back.

Selling tickets at $30 is not a loss for the act, but it is a bulwark against any financial costs of staging the show. More people in the building means more revenues from parking, food and beverage, and LN’s cut of merch sales. Meanwhile, fans get a ticket at 1996 prices. Theoretically, everyone wins.
