Katy Perry Caught Lip-Syncing at Cannes Event

Back in the day, being exposed as a lip-syncer would ruin your career and drive you to suicide. Just ask Milli Vanilli. But what does it say about what we expect from performers today when one of the biggest pop stars in the world is caught faking it and everyone just kinda goes “meh?”

Katy Perry performed (note the choice of verb) at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes on Saturday night. When she began, it quickly became apparent the while her mouth was moving, she looked like a badly dubbed Japanese movie. Naturally, there’s video.
