Lenny Kravitz, Construction Site Supervisor

Smart artists know that their careers could come to an end at any time, which is why they do what they can to diversify their skillsets so that they’ll have a way to earn a living after they stop being a rock’n’roll star.

Lenny Kravitz is still a star, but he’s well positioned to do something else when he decides that it’s time to grow up and get a real job.

Since 2003, he’s run Kravitz Design, a company based in New York that focuses on both commercial and residential projects.  This means designing and building everything from stores to condo projects to private residences.

He’s currently working on a condo in Toronto and has another 47-story building on the go in Miami.  He also designs chandeliers, including a couple for Swavorksi, the crystal people.

And he’s very hands-on.  Crews are quite used to him showing up on-site in a hardhat to see what’s going on.
