Let’s have a professional opera singer evaluate some Celtic punk rock Christmas music

Classically-trained professional vocal coach Elizabeth Zharoff is making a nice living as a YouTuber who admits that she’s lived in a musical bubble for her whole life. Her schtick–and it’s quite lovely and genuine–is to react to and critique rock songs that she’s never heard before. For the week leading up for Christmas, it was recommended that she listen to some holiday tuneage from The Dropkick Murphys. (Via Sean)

  • Alan, I love your show! A couple weeks ago you played this punk rock Christmas medley and I’ve been scouring this site trying to find a reference to it, unsuccessfully. I hear you on the Summit out of Akron. It was a Thursday night around 9:30, possible even 3 weeks ago. It was such a raw and visceral recording, I’d like to hear it again. Thanks!
