There’s no other way to present it: Vinyl is kicking the CD’s ass in Canada. And with Record Store Day coming up this weekend, so vinyl’s lead is going to be extended.

CDs sold in Canada last week: 31,809 (that’s EXACTLY the same as last week! What are the odds?)
Vinyl sold in Canada last week: 37,606 (up 18.9% from a week ago)
CDs sold in Canada so far this year: 388,261 (up 2.1% from a year ago)
Vinyl sold in Canada so far this year: 429,321 (up 19.7% from this point in 2024)

Streaming numbers:

Songs streamed last week: 2,844,132,996 (basically unchanged from last week)
Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 36,310,684,910 (up 5.9.0% from a year ago)
