Let’s take a look at the weekly Canadian vinyl and CDs sales figures (plus some streaming numbers) (11 Sept 2025)

Did you go shopping for music this past week? Did you fire up a streaming platform? Here’s what Canadians did over the last week when it came to vinyl, CDs, and streaming according to Luminate.

  • CDs sold in Canada last week: 32,430 (down 12.0% from last week)
  • Vinyl sales in Canada last week: 36,513 (down 6.3%)
  • CDs sold in Canada this year: 1,042,381(down 6.6% from this point last year)
  • Vinyl sold in Canada this year: 1,140,675 (up 17.2% from a year ago).

Streaming numbers:

  • Songs streamed in Canada last week: 2,895,532,478 (down 0.7% from last week)
  • Songs streamed in Canada so far this year: 100,475,0006,532 (up 56% from this time in 2024. I think this might be the earliest we’ve ever hit the 100 million mark.)
