I Like This: Delerium

One of my all time bliss-out tracks is “Flowers Become Screens” from Delerium.  It comes from a 1994 album entitled Semantic Spaces. Listen.

Delerium is about to return with an EP called Glimmer (January 27) and features this long lost track (recorded 2005) featuring Emily Haines of Metric.

  • dont get me wrong, I love delirium, but I have to say 1994 delirium, is nowhere close to 2015 delirium. I truly wish it was, but it supports my theory of artists losing their way due to some form of producers. It happens every time! First few albums, inventive as shit, after that…some form of pop conformity! I just hope the new album goes back to their roots. Ok, Rant over.

I think Delerium are more their own producers than any external force affecting them. They’re just getting old.

That said, Bill Leeb still cranks out a relevant FLA album from time to time. Rhys Fulber’s Conjure One is kind of a lame duck now. The first album was fucking fantastic though.
