How Would Like to be a Music Composer for Facebook? There’s an Opening.

An interesting job posting has appeared at Facebook: a position for an in-house music composer. According to the job description (which has for some reason disappeared, but hey, it could come back), FB is looking for someone with more than 10 years professional experience in the music industry, Pro Tool skills and an ability to “work closely with a variety of sound artists.”

Based out of Menlo Park, California, the successful candidate will “compose innovative music in multiple styles,” “drive music-related projects from inception to completion with little oversight” and “exceptional composition skills and master of modern production techniques.”

What could Facebook possibly need with an in-house composer? Ever seen your “year in review” video? FB needs more production music to go with such videos. The company is also looking to avoid paying production fees and licenses to outside parties.
