Like to Sing Along with Whatever’s On Your iPhone? Then Try This New App

A new app called DJ Voxchanger hit the iTunes App Store today. Onanistic karaoke may never be the same. I quote from the press release:

DJ Voxchanger enables users to interact with their favorite songs from their iTunes library and have fun changing the pitch, gender and age of the vocalist. Those changes can then be shared with the user’s social network or saved for exporting to professional audio applications.

DJ Voxchanger uses the sophisticated audio source separation technology created by Audionamix, which allows for seamless transformation of only the vocal track within a mix, while incorporating high-quality algorithms that deliver realistic transformations of age and gender of the vocalist. Users can also enjoy DJ Voxchanger’s automatic harmony creation feature, the popular “auto-tune” effect, and more. Their favorite vocalists can be changed to monsters, aliens, and then further manipulated for a one-of-a-kind creation.

As if that guy on the bus who insists in singing to himself wasn’t already bad enough…

  • Thanks for this article – I checked out DJ Voxchanger and LOVE IT!! But one note – it’s definitely NOT an app you sing into for karaoke. It can target and transform the vocals within songs, which is some crazy tech mumbo jumbo. I used it to alter the lead vocal in a song for my set, and then exported it back into Scratch Live. No multi-tracks, just the song from iTunes on my phone.
