I Like This: Viet Cong

Remember the Calgary indie band Women? They had plenty of potential but blew apart in spectacular fashion right on stage (they actually got into a fight and broke up right then and there). Further tragedy followed when guitarist Christopher Reimer died.  Things looked bleak.  But two ex-Women (which sounds funny if you say it out loud) found a couple of guys from a Black Sabbath tribute band to create Viet Cong.

Their self-titled album will be available through Jagjaguwar and Flemish Eye on January 20. Here are two bits from that album.
