Linkin Park is apparently thinking of a reunion–with a female singer.
Let’s be clear: Chester Bennington is and will forever be irreplaceable. Can there be a Linkin Park without him? We might soon find out.
Rumours are the band–which has been on hiatus since Chester’s death in 2017–are thinking about going back on the road in 2025. The group’s agency, WME (a biggie in the world of agents) is said to be talking offers for a headline tour as well as festival dates.
The lineup will include Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Dave Farrell. But who will be the lead singer? We’re not sure, but the biggest story making the rounds is that they’re seriously considering a woman.
Amy Lee of Evanesence has already commented, denying that she’s the person. At least she hasn’t been asked. Yet. If they did, “I might it do it part-time.”
So here are the questions:
- Should Linkin Park continue without Chester?
- If so, who should be the lead singer?
- And we’re narrowing things to just women, who would be the best fit?

I think that going with a female lead is wise, as it re-frames expectations of living up to Chester. No one can ever be him and, as such, a male vocalist would inevitably be compared directly to Chester. A female changes the rules.
Maybe Lzzy Hale, of Halestorm.
Of course, what do I know? AC/DC managed just fine when they replaced Bon.
