Listen to an Alternate Version of the Only Nirvana Song to Feature Dave Grohl on Lead Vocals

Nirvana was Kurt’s band and he was the lead singer and chief songwriter. There is exactly one song on which he did not sing lead: a bonus track called “Marigold” buried at the end of the CD single for “Heart Shaped Box.” He gave it to the drummer–the drummer!–to maybe get him off his back. That drummer was, of course, Dave Grohl and he’s done okay for himself.

Here’s the original.

Sometime over the past week, an alternate recording of that song surfaced. Let’s give it a listen.
