Lollapalooza…India? Yes.

This weekend will see the annual Lollapalooza in Chicago, but this is only one of several Lollapaloozas that take place around the world. The festival has touched down in Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Berlin, and Stockholm. A new location will be added for 2023: Mumbai, India.

Perry Farrell (yes, he’s still involved) announced Lollapalooza India this week.

“The music of India is transcendental, it draws our spirits east,” he said. “Lollapalooza is an instrument for unity, peace, and education utilizing the universal languages of music and art to find common ground. You may be excited, and we are equally as excited!”

Some 45 acts will appear at a still-unannounced venue on January 28 and 29, 2023, with most of the acts coming from India and Asia. Tickets go on sale this weekend for 7000 rupees, which works out to about CAD$113.
