Looking for a Better MP3 Audio Experience? This Might Help

When compared to a proper analogue recording or even a CD, MP3s sound awful.  I know the math says that humans shouldn’t be able to tell what the algorithm strips out, but I’ve done plenty of blind A-B tests so I can confidently say that this claim is full of shit.

But what are you gonna do? MP3s are so ubiquitous and useful that they’re going to be with us for a long time. Isn’t there some electronically gizmatry that can improve on what we’ve got?

Maybe.  Songza, a streaming service used by more than a million Canadians, has just updated their stream to AMP technology, which is the same tech used in calibrating bazillion-dollar home theatres.  To take advantage of this, you need to purchase the Audyssey Music Player app (99 cents)–and it’s worth every cent.

  • Audyssey App has no shuffle and won't work on DRM files and turns itself off quite often. It's crap IMHO.
