Looking for Headphones? Here’s What the Best DJs Use

I found this entry on (of all places) Business Insider.  As someone who is on an endless quest to find the best headphones ever, I had to give it a read.

There are some interesting recommendations here:

  • Aerial 7 (DJ Scotty Boy)
  • Beats by Dr. Dre (Really, DJ Skribble??  Really?)
  • Pioneer HDJ-2000 (Annie Mac)
  • Sol Republic (Steve Aoki)
  • Sony MDR7506 (DJ Z-Trip.  TOTALLY on board with this!)

For the record, I’ve been partial to the club quality line of Sony MDR headphones for both work on-air and in the studio.  I’m still looking for the perfect set of ‘phones for listening to music on my iPhone.

  • Grado SR-60s or SR80s. These are Grado's low end Audiophile headphones and Man do they sound Awesome with my iPhone. I have owned about 30 pairs of various $40-80 range headphones and have never been happy. Finally bought the Grado's on a trip to the US (Price is much higher in Canada). They are Awesome! Still made by the Grado Family in New York. Check out their $3000 High end stuff for Drooling/Dreaming. hehehe
