Lostprophets Singer Sicko Gets 29 Years in Jail

Ian Watkins, the former singer for the Welsh band Lostprophets, is going to jail for a long time.  Probably not long enough.

If you’ve been following the story, this pervert admitted to attempting to raping an 11 month-old boy last year.  He did so with the cooperation and encouragement of the boy’s mother.  She’s been sentenced to either 14 or 17 years (It’s unclear because there’s a second female accomplice who has also been sentenced.  Neither can be named to protect the identity of the kids involved.)

And there’s more:  kiddie porn, luring of minors and the sense that Watkins didn’t think any of this was a big deal.  “Mega lolz,” he said.

This case is so awful, so depraved that it’s almost impossible to read the reporting.  If you can stomach it, though, go here.

If Watkins manages to last 29 years in jail–which will take him to age 75–he’ll spend another six years on probation.  No wonder the guy is on suicide watch.

  • Actually, the amount of years that Mr. Watkins will be jailed for adds up to 35 years, so he actually got a very good sentence for the heinous crimes that he committed against children.
