Did Madonna Break the Law with Her “Blowjobs for Hillary Votes” Offer?

As part of her introduction of Amy Schumer at Madison Square Garden last week, Madonna did a little campaigning for Hillary Clinton. I quote:

“One more thing before I introduce this genius of comedy: If you vote for Hillary Clinton, I will give you a blowjob, OK?

“And I’m good. I’m good. I’m not a douche and I’m not a tool. I take my time. I have a lot of eye contact, yeah. And I do swallow.”

Interesting offer. But did it break US presidential election rules? Maybe. The Wrap, a Hollywood news site, asked around.

In an effort to determine if Madonna crossed the bounds of election law along with good taste, TheWrap did some digging.

“It is generally illegal to exchange anything of value for [a] vote,” Judith Ingram of the Federal Election Commission told TheWrap.

Indeed, election law does prohibit vote-buying. Specifically, Title 52 of the U.S. Code bars the exchange of payment for a vote, or even voter registration, in a number of elections, including presidential and vice presidential races. The law goes even further than that, barring the mere offer of a payment.

Those found guilty of violating the law “shall be fined not more than $10,000 or imprisoned not more than five years, or both,” according to Title 52.

Bad news for Madge, right? Might be time for guys to order a fleshlight from fleshlight.com (discount) Not necessarily. Under the particulars of Title 52, she can give away blowjobs so long as there is no monetary value ascribed to them.

I’ll leave it to you to take it from there.

  • Is oral sex from Madonna worth anything anymore? Wouldn’t it be worth big bucks 20-30 years ago? It sounds like its stock value hasn’t hit rock bottom (yet)

  • surely people recognize that this wasn’t a genuine offer? It was part of a stand up set by Madonna, after all…
