MAGA is going nuts over this anti-ICE Zach Bryan song

As Trump tries to distract from the Epstein files, he and noted puppy killer Kristine Noem continue to send ICE thugs (probably a lot of Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, and Three Percenters who are happy to finally be able to legally bash some heads) to round up anyone with a tan, zip-tie them, and toss them into a U-Haul bound for…somewhere.

There are protests, pushbacks, and plenty of handwringing. The majority of Americans deplore these Gestapo tactics. But because Trump knows immigration is his MAGA base’s favourite topic, he and the dog slaughterer are pushing ahead. Gotta get those Epstein files stories out of the news cycle, you know?

Then Zach Bryan entered the chat.

Zach is a country singer, of course, and someone who just played the largest ticketed stadium concert in the history of the United States (112,408 fans at Michigan Stadium). He is massive. His audience is a cohort that’s normally considered very conservative and consists of a sizeable number of MAGA types.

Last Friday, he posted an unreleased track entitled “Bad News” on Instagram that was definitely anti-ICE. The lyrics include these lines: “I heard the cops came, cocky motherf**kers ain’t they?/And ICE is gonna come bust down your door/Try to build a house, no bills no more, well I got a telephone/Kids are scared and all alone.”

The MAGA outrage was predictable. The Department of Homeland Security--headed up by the doggy death demon–even trolled Bryan with an ICE recruiting video that’s soundtracked with Bryan’s hit, “Revival.”

The White House had more:

Bryan–an eight-year Navy vet–had to say something, of course. He maintains that his intentions have been “misconstrued,” a situation that will be rectified once the full version is released. I quote: “While Zach Bryan wants to Open The Gates [sic] to criminal illegal aliens and has Condemned heroic ICE officers, Something in the Orange tells me a majority of Americans disagree with him and support President Trump’s Great American Revival. Godspeed, Zach!”

Note the use of the titles of some of his songs in the statement.

“I wrote this song months ago. I posted this song three months ago as a snippet. This shows you how divisive a narrative can be when shoved down our throats through social media. This song is about how much I love this country and everyone in it more than anything. When you hear the rest of the song, you will understand the full context that hits on both sides of the aisle. Everyone using this now as a weapon is only proving how devastatingly divided we all are. We need to find our way back.

“I served this country, I love this country and the song itself is about all of us coming out of this divided space. I wasn’t speaking as a politician or some greater-than-thou asshole, just a 29-year-old man who is just as confused as everyone else. To see how much shit it stirred up makes me not only embarrassed but kind of scared. Left wing or right wing we’re all one bird and American. To be clear I’m on neither of these radical sides. To all those disappointed in me on either side of whatever you believe in just know I’m trying my best too and we all say things that are misconstrued sometimes.”

This could get interesting.
