Man who died in Trump Tower fire was a big collector of guitars and amps

There was a fire on the 50th floor of the Trump Tower in New York on Friday. The blaze broke out in the suit of Todd Brassner, a collector of expensive watches and electric guitars.

Brassner wanted out of his $2.5 million apartment badly, but because no one wanted to buy any property in Trump Tower, he was stuck there.

The New York Times reports that he lived with about 100 vintage guitars, 40 guitar amps that dated back to the 1930s along with 150 ukuleles.

There’s no cause of the fire yet, but we do know that the Trump Tower doesn’t have sprinkler systems. When the building was being constructed, Trump fought the inclusion of sprinklers because it would have added an addition $4 per square foot to the cost of construction.
