Mastodon Becomes the First Major Band to Accept Bitcoin

In less that two weeks, Mastodon’s new album will release Once More ‘Round the Sun.  You’ll be able to buy it in all the usual ways (CD, vinyl, digital download, etc.) but you won’t necessarily have to use a fiat currency. Bitcoin will do just fine.

Mastodon has partnered with BitPay so they can accept Bitcoin payments for the album. “We’re excited to work with fellow Atlanta-natives BitPay for our new album. We want to give our fans as many options to buy our new album as possible and are happy that bitcoin can be one of those choices.” (Loudwire)

Here’s the official video for the first single from the album.
