Meanwhile, Back in Pakistan…

Lahore correspondent Wes Malik forwards this video involving XKholoBC, a youth initiative against state censorship in Pakistan.  Wes explains:

“The premise of the song is KholoBC. Kholo means ‘open’ and B and C are abbreviation of ‘ban’ and ‘chor,’ which means ‘thief.’  ‘BC’ is basically an abbreviation of a swear work which means ‘sisterfu****””.’ It sorta sounds like ‘BanChod’ so a little fun word play on a derogatory term.”
