Meet Depeche Mode’s Drummer (You Heard Me)

All Depeche Mode fans know Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andrew Fletcher.  They also know about Alan Wilder and Vince Clarke.  But what about drummer Christian Eigner?  Yes, drummer.

Eigner is the Austrian-born member of Depeche Mode’s mostly unheralded crew of back-up musicians.  He’s not only toured as part of DM’s live band (he’s been there since 1997), but he also serves as a backing vocalist and sometime keyboard player.  And if you look in the credits of albums like Exciter and Sounds of the Universe, you’ll see his name.  And when Delta Machine comes out next month, his name will be there, too.

He’s just launched his own website on which he promises to share some of the work he does.  As you check that out, have a listen to this piece entitled “The Danger.”
