Metal fans 1, Westboro Baptist Church 0

When Lamb of God heard that the hateful loonies from the Westboro Baptist Church were preparing to protest outside the Capitol building in Richmond, Virginia, they knew that they had to fight back in a meaningful yet non-violent way.

The WBC was there to drop hate bombs on a Danica Roem, the state’s first and so far only transgender lawmaker. Roem is also a very, very big fan of metal–she’s sings in a band, too–so Lamb of God wasn’t going to stand by for this.

The call went out to fans to assemble in crazy costumes and kazoos in order to drown out the WBC freaks.

Six members of the church showed up. Several hundred Lamb of God fans were waiting for them. As this video shows, it was mission accomplished.
