Metallica: M72 World Tour Live from Arlington, TX – A Two-Night Event
By: Elisa F.G
“The Day That Never Comes,” the fourth track off Metallicas 2008 album Death Magnetic, first song that came to mind when tickets (finally) went on sale in June 2023, last chance some of us will get to catch them live. The day that never comes, is finally here. You game?
Metallica: M72 World Tour Live from Arlington, TX – A Two Night Event has been the buzz since April, probably even before that. Actually? Has Metallica ever not been the buzz? I digress. Tickets are officially on sale,*cough* Father’s Day gift *cough*.
If you plan NOT attending this show, I’m afraid it won’t matter either way, you’ll hear it from wherever you are in the world…for two whole nights! Cinemas in Canada, U.S., Bolivia, Columbia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Venezuela, Peru (basically wherever a movie theatre is on this planet) you can catch the show. Arlington Texas will be hosting the day that finally came and industry leaders in event distribution Trafalgar Releasing are going to make it all happen so that the entire world can rock out in unison for two days. Dionne Warwick is singing “What the world needs now is Metal-lica” in my head as I type this, maybe an enormous global metal show experience is exactly what the world needs now! Aww.
Friday August 18th and Sunday August 20th are the dates, concert begins at 9:15 p.m. EDT / 6:15 PM PDT. Somebody will be late, I can’t imagine the whole world arriving on time so if you miss a bit of the show (because someone decided to have a wedding on your concert date or something equally inconsiderate!) Don’t fret. Encore showings will broadcast again on August 19 (Friday’s concert) and August 21 (Sunday’s concert) at 9:00 p.m. EDT / 6:00 p.m. PDT.
Shows one and two have completely different set lists with forty plus years worth of music to choose from, that’d be quite the jukebox!
So close no matter how far, you’ve still got time to pick up a ticket…maybe. It is Metallica after all, I imagine they sellout fast.
