Michael Stipe Releases His First Music Since the End of REM

When REM finally called it a day in 2011, a lot of fans expected Michael Stipe to get deeper into film.  After all, he already had a couple of movie companies of his own.

First came work with silkscreens, sculpture and other visual art.  Stipe’s first post-REM musical project is the soundtrack to a new film called The Cold Lands.  Learn more and get a sample at  Salon.
