Mick Jagger is tweeting from his hospital bed

Mick Jagger underwent heart surgery late Thursday–a transcatheter aortic valve replacement, to be specific–a procedure that didn’t require cracking open his chest.

Instead, doctors accessed the heart by going up through the femoral artery, which obviously will reduce recovering time. More doctors are opting for this particular method when it comes to fixing leaky heart valves.

Mick is already tweeting from his hospital bed.

Mick needs to stay relatively still for the next couple of days to make sure nothing opens up and bleeds. He’ll need at least a month or two of recuperation before he’s well enough for the Stones to rescheduled those postponed dates on their No Filter tour.

Or it might be sooner. Remember that Mick is a fitness freak and is more active than most guys have his age. He runs, does yoga, is learning ballet, eats nothing but healthy organic foods, and basically refuses to act his age.
