Miss Bowie? Here’s unreleased footage from the Ziggy Stardust era
David Bowie’s 1972-73 Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars tour has gone down in history as one of the most influential of all time. You’d think that in the 52 years that have elapsed that we’d seen everything via the live album (and its multiple reissues) and the concert film. Apparently not, though.
There’s a brand-new box set version of The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars coming September 6 under the title David Bowie Rock’n’Roll Star. that comes with all sorts of unreleased material, including alternate takes, outtakes, demos, and rehearsals-29 in all–plus a half-speed master of the LP, the now-obligatory Dolby ATMOS mix on Blu-ray, printed material, and more.
