Monday Morning News Round-Up

It’s Monday.  You really don’t want to work that hard, do you?  Take a break and get caught up with what’s happening in music today.

  1. U2 says Bono’s heart is just fine.  That whole report about being rushed to a hospital in Monaco?  Yeah, that was nothing.  They say.  Uh-huh.
  2. Meatloaf is a bit concerned about fainting twice onstage in the last month, but he says “If I’m going out, I’m going out onstage.”
  3. Meanwhile, Nile Rogers really is sick.  He admits it.
  4. There’s a Quiet Riot movie.  People are quite rightly asking “Why?”
  5. There’s a double memorial for two fallen Alice in Chains members tonight in Seattle.  Layne Staley would have turned 44 today and Mike Starr died back on March 8.
  6. The death toll from the Indianapolis State Fair stage collapse has risen to six seven.
  7. Later today:  a track-by-track evaluation to I’m With You by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  UPDATE:  See the next post.
