More reviews by Brent Chittenden. That’s because I’m somewhere in Qatar. Yes, Qatar. In a dust storm. – AC
Artist: Giant Giant Sand
Album: Tuscon Giant
Giant Sand is a band from Denmark via Tuscon. It’s an interesting sound of rock with a south of the border feel but with an extra dimension. The latest single, Forever and a Day really grabbed my ear. Sounds Like: A Danish Dire Straits. Link / Listen / Watch
Giant Giant Sand – Forever And A Day by FIRE RECORDS
Artist: The Holiday Crowd
Album: Over The Bluffs
I hit play on “While She Waits” from The Holiday Crowd’s current release and pretty much stopped everything I was doing to listen to it. This is indy pop done right. Sounds Like: Kind of like Morrissey but less egotistical and Canadian. Link / Listen / Watch

Artist: Midnight Magic
Album: What The Eyes Can’t See
I never thought I would ever have to admit to liking something that involved the word disco… but I really can’t help it. Midnight Magic is funky and very 70’s but at the same time other tracks (like Psycho For your Love) are very much in line with today’s modern dance music. Sounds Like: A new house band for Studio 54 Link / Listen / Watch
Artist: Apparitions
Album: Kiss Me Sleeping
The best way to explain this is that it is pop metal. Normally I’d kind of turn a blind eye to this genre of metal but this stuff grabbed me by the ears. Like very well put together pop music but with hard metal edge to it. Kind of like the world deadliest Nerf sword. Sounds Like A softer Lacuna Coil a harder Evanescence Link / Listen / Watch
