More Music From The Inbox, 28 February 2015: Pet Symmetry, Isle Of Indigo, Jon Lawless, VANT, Oceanics
Artist / Song: “Give Thanks (Get Lost)” by Pet Symmetry
Album: n/a
Self-described Chicago power-pop trio Pet Symmetry are true to their word: “Give Thanks” is the kind of catchy rock that Midwest bands were always known for. Don’t be fooled by the noisy intro, this is top-down fun all the way.

Artist / Song: “Paycheck” by Isle Of Indigo
Album: n/a
Scant info on Isle Of Indigo, but I think they’re from the U.K. and judging by first single “Paycheck” they is funky. Also one of their 90 followers on Twitter is Disclosure so that’s a good sign.

Artist / Song: “Capital (ft. Daniela Andrade)” by Jon Lawless
Album: Out One Night
Singer / songwriter Lawless has previously recorded with members of Stars and that would have been good enough for me, but his latest track “Capital” lays bare the Stars’ influence: delicate indie pop with a female counterpoint. A good one for staying up until 3.

Artist / Song: “Parasite” by VANT
Album: n/a
Already opening for Royal Blood in England, VANT’s “Parasite” is retro punk at its best, barely at a minute-and-a-half and spitting out lyrics that will haunt your dreams (or so they hope).

Artist / Song: “Know Your Story” by Oceanics
Album: Oceanics
More solid tunes from Australia, this time from Oceanics, a four-piece from the Gold Coast with its looking-out-on-the-waves single “Know Your Story.” We could all use a beach these days.
