More recommendations from the Reverbnation World

Once a year, artists on Reverbnation–which means they’re from all over the world–pitch to have their material featured on this website. This time, 2,192 submissions came in. Here are my favourites.

1. AC Super Sunshine (Rock, Fond Du Lac WI)

Psych-y and a little Beatle-esque in their sound. Fantastic arrangement and production. The whole song is basically one big hook. If you’re getting married, you need to include this song somewhere in the proceedings. Learn more here.

2. Royal Chant (Alternative, Port Macquarie, NSW Australia)

Lo-fi attitude plus garage rock energy. Think of a smoother-sounding Dinosaur Jr. with a touch of Cracker. More here.

3. Healthy Junkies (Rock, London UK)

Bouncy female-fronted British indie rock that might make you think of Elastica, Lush, and Echobelly. Love the name, too. Hey, Domino Record! Pay attention! You, too, Rough Trade. Like what you hear? Try these tracks.

4. The Writing South (Alternative, Harrisburg PA)

Spooky twangy-ness that sounds great with the lights out. If you’re a fan of early Cure, then this is definitely for you. Try these songs, too.

5. Saving Jackie (Rock, San Antonio TX)

Super-tight hard rock with a touch of funk from a band that has probably listened to a couple of Rage Against the Machine songs. That’s a good thing, by the way. We can use more bands like this. More tracks here.
