More retro TV fun: 25 years ago, Madonna gave the most-bleeped late night talk show appearance in history

David Letterman’s people couldn’t believe their luck. After years of trying to entice Madonna to come on The Late Show, she finally agreed.

In March 1994, Madonna was at the height of her powers and success. The Erotica album was a hit and the subsequent world tour sold out across North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Meanwhile, she hadn’t made any kind of appearance on American TV for over a year. Her guest slot on Letterman on March 31, 1994, was seen as nothing less than coup.

It took just a few seconds for everything to come off the rails. What followed was the most-bleeped talk show guest slot in the history of TV.

Here is the full uncensored interview. Wow.
