Morrissey cancelled a show because he was too sleepy

Why does anyone buy tickets to a Morrissey show when there’s a 50-50 chance he’s going to cancel at the last second? Why would any promoter agree to book him?

Since 2021, he has cancelled or postponed more than 200 shows for a variety of reasons. “Logistical reasons at the venue.” “Toxic food poisoning.” Illness. But this latest cancellation is the best yet.

A show in Valencia, Spain, was called off because Morrissey was too sleepy. He blamed everything on a long drive and a hotel that was shaking with loud techno music all night.

He finished up with a third statement about his hotel: “[It was] indescribable hell. It will take me one year to recover. And that is an understatement.”
