  • Well, I’m not sure how a band could screw up playing a simple song, but here we are.

And I’ve always felt that if a band takes the time and effort to record and release a cover, then they don’t have enough good songs of their own.

  • I can take a Beastie Boys song any day, any way. Motley Crue performed the song in Ottawa this summer, and I have to say, it was less impressive live than in this version. They did a half dozen snippets of covers mid show, which were well received by the audience. Their cover of the Pistols Anarchy in the UK was pretty good (and the crowd’s vocals were a big step up from what was happening on stage… someone needed Autotune that night!). The musicianship was totally all there for these covers but the vocals, wow, not so much.

I can see an EP of 70s and 80s covers in the near future, if this show is any indication.

  • Dear Motley Crue…I’ve been a fan for years…you played a major role in me pursuing my own musical dreams…so what I’m about to say comes from a heartfelt place. Please stop.
