Final Reminder of Opportunity for People Who Want to be Music Writers!
Earlier this year, I put out a call for people who have passion for writing about music. We got together over a couple of nights in Toronto to discuss getting involved in a new online project called Flink. This is a revolutionary new site that we hope will change the way fans interact with their favourite artists–and each other. Many of the people who came to those sessions are now working as music writers for Flink.
The one issue we had involved people outside the Toronto area who could not make these information sessions. That’s what I want to fix right now.
If you are interested in working as a music writer with a chance to get paid for your efforts, we’re holding an online recruitment session this Thursday evening at 8pm EDT. You’ll be able to see and hear the pitch and learn everything about contributing to Flink.
And it’s more than just writing about music, too. Do you have a passion about sports, movies or TV shows? Great! Flink aims to service those fans, too.
I want to assure you that this NOT some pyramid scheme or one of those bait’n’switch things where someone tries to sell you something. It’s a new, different and totally legitimate opportunity for people who want to write about music–and be paid for it.
You need to register in advance for this so we can set you up with the appropriate online tools. Send an email to Allison at [email protected] with the words “MUSIC WRITER” in the subject line. Once you do that, spend some time browsing through the Flink website to see what it’s all about.
Turns out we have room for 100 people with our GoToMeeting account. Best sign on early before 8pm EDT Thursday, July 10.
The link provided in the piece is broken. Go to http://www.flickfame.com to check out the site. Which, by the way, looks spot on brilliant!
OK. I’ve just spent some time on the FlinkFame website and it’s truly one of the most interesting music-related sites I’ve been on – and I’ve been on a few of them. I realize that there will also be content on movies and the like, but I’m interested strictly in the music side of things. I also like how it’s set up, putting the member in complete control over what content they wish to view as well as how to present it to the audience. I also like how the pages scroll sideways instead of up and down. That’s brilliant, in my book.
At any rate, after spending some time on the site, I have to give it a solid 5-Star rating – for overall look, ease of use, innovative story telling – the works.
I have a feeling that Flink will soon be the go-to website in the very near future.
Alan. I’m a big fan of yours but even when I click on Allison’s email like it goes back to the story on your page.
Weird. Go to [email protected]
link works now, when I click the email window pops up,,,thanks
