Need Some Seasonal Listening? Dine Alone Records Released Their 2017 Summer Sampler

When was the last time somebody made you a mixtape? OK, a label sharing a promotional sampler may not be exactly the same thing, but it’s still something! Toronto-based indie label Dine Alone Records have put together another bi-annual showcase of their growing talent, so you know where to turn if you’re looking for some summer jams.

Featuring bands from across the label’s collection of homegrown talent and worldwide stars, each of the 26 tracks highlights a different artist. You’ll find the likes of local GTA artists like The Dirty Nil and The Flatliners, breakout international stars like City and Colour and The New Pornographers, and recent young blood signings like New Swears and Sam Coffey & The Iron Lungs.

You can stream Dine Alone’s 2017 Summer Sampler through either Apple Music, Spotify, or Youtube. Or, you can download it for free from Dine Alone’s website – where you’ll also be entered to win summer prize packs including headphones, pool floaties, Dine Alone vinyl, and more. Solid tunes and free stuff, what else could you ask for? (Full disclosure – I just started working with Dine Alone’s street team, this post just happened to fall to me).

Mat also studied biology and music, so he has a strangely specific knowledge set that doesn't really apply anywhere other than useless fun facts. He currently works for a music tech start-up in Halifax, and is a big fan of the em dash.

  • Dine Alone’s seasonal samplers are always must-listens. I’ve discovered so many great indie acts through them over the years.
