Netflix’s “Da-DUM was too short for use in theatres so they commissioned an extended remix
Everyone is intimately aware of the “Da-DUM” audio signature that precedes every Netflix show. The problem is that at three seconds, it’s two short for use as a pre-movie flourish in theatres. So they got Hans Zimmer to extend it.
The Netflix "ta-dum" soundmark is one of the all time greats, but doesn't work as well in a theater because it's only 3 seconds long.
