New Book on Kurt Cobain Coming in Time for 20th Anniversary of His Death

Believe it or not, April 8 will be 20 years since we heard that Kurt Cobain had dramatically bowed out of any further participation in the music business. Just in time comes a new book that seeks to explain why so many of us remain fascinated with his life, his death and his music.

Charles R. Cross (no relation, in case you were wondering) has been a Cobain/Nirvana biographer for years, making him the perfect guy to take a deeper dive into Kurt’s legacy.  That’s the point of his new book, Here We Are Now: The Lasting Impact of Kurt Cobain.

The book covers the rise (and fall) of Kurt and Nirvana, complete with the long-lasting impacts on music, fashion and culture. And yes, he spends time debunking the the whole Kurt-was-murdered conspiracy.

Here We Are Now: The Lasting Impact of Kurt Cobain will be out March 8.

  • Isn’t it the 5th, not the 8th of April?

    • We think he died on the 5th, although we’re not entirely sure. We heard the news on Friday, April 8.
