New Book on Vinyl Coming January 29
A new book called Vinyl: The Analogue Record will arrive too late for Christmas, but it’s worth putting on a wish list. Written by Dominik Bartmanski and Ian Woodward, both sociologists, they look at the vinyl revival and this idea that the format is some kind of cultural icon.
Next weekend (December 6 and 7, 2014), The Ongoing History of New Music will feature part 1 of a comprehensive history of the vinyl record. Watch this space for more details. Meanwhile, here’s a quick Mixmag interview with a hardcore vinyl DJ.
