A New Cache of Joy Division Lyrics to be Published This Week

Even though Ian Curtis has been dead for 34 years (taking his band down with him), the fascination with Joy Division continues. This Thursday will mark the UK publication of So This is Permanence, which features a cache of never-before-seen lyrics. (We’ll get it in Canada October 28. Pre-order here.)

Put together by Ian’s widow, Deborah, the book features plenty of handwritten pages and prose taken from all kinds notebooks and assorted scraps of paper that he kept in three-ring binders. For example:
