New Depeche Mode Album Coming in March

Now that we’re almost at the end of 2012, we can start slotting in the big-name releases scheduled to come out in Q1 of 2013.  This one is definitely a biggie.

Depeche Mode will release album they describe as “soulful” sometime in March.  There’s no exact date, no track listing, not even a title.

What’s interesting is that DM will release the record through Columbia (part of Sony) as their Mute deal with EMI is kaput because, well, EMI is kaput.  Another question:  is Alan Wilder back with the group in some capacity? That’s the rumour.

One piece of new music has leaked out.  There’s no title for the song and we’re not even sure it’ll be on the album. But this is Depeche Mode and it might indicate Martin Gore’s current headspace.
