Artist: Elephant Stone “Knock You From YR Mountain”
Album: The Three Poisons
“Knock You From YR Mountain” is the second single off of Elephant Stone’s forthcoming album The Three Poisons, which is set to be released on August 26th via Hidden Pony Records (on Vinyl/CD/Digital) & Burger Records (on Cassette).
Sounds like: A whirlwind of elastic bass, slinky psychedelic guitar, smooth vocals and eastern-tinged electronics.

Artist: JEEN. “Buena Vista”
Album: Tourist
This is the first single off of indie alt pop songstress JEEN.’s debut solo album Tourist. Conceived and recorded in her attic, she describes the album as being an old school effort with a beginning, middle and end. Tourist features guest appearances by both Great Big Sea and Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene and is set to drop July 8th.
Sounds like: “Buena Vista” is all wrapped up in the kind of thrilling, breathless, urgency that conjures images of a charming, blonde fugitive on the run.

Artist: The Ruminaters “I Lost My Grandpa’s Teeth”
Album: I Hate The Ruminaters
Hailing from Sydney’s Northern beaches, The Ruminaters, have built a reputation upon their rowdy live performances. “I Lost My Grandpa’s Teeth” is the first single off of the band’s forthcoming debut album, I Hate The Ruminaters, which is due out on Pavement Records July 4th.
Sounds like: Surf-punk.

Artist: French Style Furs “Turn or Burn”
Album: Is Exotic Bait
Taking their name from a store on Driggs Avenue in Greenport, French Style Furs is the latest musical incarnation from members of Cold Ward Kids and We Barbarians. “Turn or Burn” is the third single off of the band’s forthcoming debut LP, Is Exotic Bait, which features session work from members of Tom Wait’s and David Lynch’s bands, as well as members of the Dirty Projectors, and is due out on July 8th on Frenchkiss.
Sounds like: Dingy post-punk poetics (think Joy Division) coupled with the kind of elevation we’ve come to expect from the likes of U2––interesting combo.

Artist: Snowblind Traveller “Confederate Burial”
Album: Confederate Burial
“Confederate Burial” is the title track from Snowblind Traveler’s upcoming album due out July 17th. The album, which was recorded in San Francisco, was inspired by everything songwriter Matt Dorrien’s interest in Southern literature and the American Civil War to his recent move from New York to the sunny West Coast.
Sounds like: Bare-boned and somber but gentle and incredibly moving.
