New Official Bootleg from Sloan Coming This Week

Sloan is about to release 500 hand-numbered copies of a recording made in Australia more than a dozen years ago.  Here’s what Jay Ferguson has to say about the release:

Perhaps by now you know of my love for the 1970’s-1980’s ‘bootleg’ LP aesthetic. Due to the enthusiastic demand for the Is That All I Get? live in Winnipeg 1993 vinyl LP we released last autumn, I’ve been allowed to indulge once again in creating another limited edition artifact.Unlike the last bootleg LP though, this concert was actually recorded live directly from the soundboard!   Captured on our first tour of duty of Australia, it was a pretty heavy guitar onslaught that treated the patrons of Goldman’s in Sydney that night of Oct. 23 1999. One listen to Andrew and Patrick’s twin guitar war during Sensory Deprivation and you’ll know what I’m talking about, mate.

As before, this LP comes packaged in a heavy-stock white jacket with a hand-numbered, risographed wrap around outer sleeve, photocopied interview insert and, this time, pressed onto translucent Pacific Ocean blue vinyl. We were down under promoting our 5th LP, Between The Bridges, and it was for this album that we made a concerted effort to expand our international horizons by beginning our touring outside o f Canada. First was the United States and then off to Australia before continuing to Japan later in the year. I like to think we were pretty warmed up by this point, despite the 15 hour flight.

As an added bonus with the vinyl purchase, you will also be sent a high quality digital download of the LP, as well as 4 bonus tracks (People Of The Sky, Iggy and Angus, The NS and Sinking Ships) that didn’t make the vinyl cut.

Dig if you will,
Jay F.

PS:

Coming in September, we will be heading out on a Fall Tour to coincide with our Triple-Vinyl ‘Twice Removed’ Deluxe Reissue Box Set …more on that very soon.
