New York Rangers D Dan Boyle Lives Faith No More Dream

Dan Boyle, defenseman for the New York Rangers, is one of Faith No More’s biggest fans. He’s into the band so much that he’s served as one of the band’s roadies.

Last summer, Boyle accompanied FNM on tour of the US east coast in support of their Sol Invictus album. He got on the band bus and followed the group through four shows, including a gig at Madison Square Garden. When it came time to set up for the gig, he was there with the rest of the crew, dressed in the same regulation white outfit as everyone else. He’s in-show duties consisted of keeping drummer Mike Bordin hydrated and mic cable management for Mike Patton whenever he dove into the pit.

Where did this obsession with the band come from? It goes all the way back to when  Boyle was going to school in Ottawa. He was hooked the moment he heard this song.

Who else would Boyle roadie for? Tool, for sure. Deftones? Bring ’em on. Pantera? Why not?

This is probably Dan’s last season in the NHL. Who knows? He might have already found his post-hockey career.
