And the Newest Member of Pink Floyd is…Stephen Hawking?

I don’t know if he’s ever played a music instrument, but Stephen Hawking CH CBE FRS FRSA has apparently gone where Rogers Waters refuses to go. Reports say that the former the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge makes an appearance on the upcoming Pink Floyd album, The Endless River.

Okay, so he’s not actually performing with Floyd, but his computer-generated voice has been sampled for a track called–wait for it–“Talkin’Hawking.”

Sharp-eyed Floyd fans will immediately point out that this is Dr. Hawking’s second appearance on one of the band’s album. Let’s go back to 1994’s The Division Bell and listen to “Keep Talking.”

Two appearances on Floyd albums makes Dr. Hawking more a member of the band than Roger Waters, no? (Thanks to Tom for the tip.)
