Next up when it comes to music-based movies: Blinded by the Light (Yep. Springsteen figures in this one.)

The film industry has finally figured out that there are some great music stories to be told, whether it be biopics (Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocketman) or whimsical fiction (the upcoming Yesterday)

Now we have a something halfway between: a dramedy/based-on-a-true story tied together by the music of Bruce Springsteen

Gurinder Chadha, the person behind Bend It Like Beckham, tells the story of Javed, a Pakistani teen living in Luton, England, who discovers Springsteen’s music and lyrics. The deeper he gets into the Boss’ music, the more it speaks to him and the more his life begins to change.

Blinded by the Light opens August 14. Here’s the trailer.
