NOFX: The Documentary is coming

NOFX called it a day in 2024 after 41 years in business. That’s a lot of punk rock, so there must be plenty of stories, right? There are–and some of those stories will show up in a new feature-length documentary entitled 40 Years of Fuckin Up which is currently in post-production. I quote from the press release:

40 Years of Fuckin Up is Spinal Tap, but real. It’s a film about the infamous, fairly un-famous, and beloved punk rock band NOFX. This is the unbelievable story about how a group of untalented drug-addled teenage punks somehow became the most successful independent band in history. And they did it haphazardly all on their own.”

Then Fat Mike added this:

“Most people wouldn’t be ok with releasing a film that shows footage of getting whipped in their dungeon, or their drug use for the past 20 years, or dressing up like a rubber cheap whore, or the ambulance ride when they were naked while puking and shitting blood… I’m not like most people.”

No, he’s not.

The doc, when it arrives, will feature several unreleased songs. Expect some sneak previews at SXSW in March. A full release is coming in April.
