Norwegian Artist Releases a Song All About Periods. (No, Not the Punctuation Mark)

Meet Jenny Haval, a Norwegian conceptual artist, the author beyond song called “Period Piece,” which is a meditation on the subject menstruation. It appears on her sixth album, Blood Bitch, a project recorded in a shed in Oslo.

“I want menstrual blood to have a huge, creative, real world power,” she told The Pool.

Her song Period Piece has been widely shared on social media with Twitter users, such as Madhvi, referring to Hval’s Blood Bitch as the “menstruation album”.
